Natalie is a qualified SENCO, Science Teacher and Psychometric Assessor. Natalie has taught in schools for the last 22 years. She has been a teacher in mainstream education and for the last 8 years in a specialist SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) setting. Natalie has worked for many years in SLT roles and has recently gained her Headteacher qualification (NPQH). Natalie has a specialist interest in Safeguarding, Pastoral Care and Mental Health. She has helped her own school and advised other schools on safeguarding measures on how to improve and given training on Attachment and Awareness. This has been beneficial in recent Ofsted reports for the schools advised. Natalie is also registered with the British Psychological Society as a Psychometric Assessor.
Natalie has previously won the award for Sky Sports Teacher of the Year for the UK and Ireland (and been a finalist twice) and has also produced Sports Science schemes of work that have been involved with Sky Sports. She has presented a podcast for BBC sounds with Greg James and Bella Mackie on the Science of Tattooing. Natalie has also completed some work for the Welcome Trust and Science Museum and has previously been a Houses of Parliament Teacher Ambassador.
Natalie is passionate and dedicated to making a positive change within our education system especially by supporting our neurodiverse community and youths out of education by making pastoral care and a relational approach at the heart of Darwin Education.
